Syncade Roadmap
Here at Emerson Exchange 2009, Emerson's Bob Lenich presents the Syncade smart operations management direction. This software resides at level 3 of the ISA95 model.
The Documenting, Control, and Archiving (DCA) manages the flow, approval, storage of documents. At its heart, the Syncade software manages workflows electronically. The Syncade software has broadened from its roots in Life Sciences to address more of the process industries. Bob points to key differences with other operations management software is it's zero-client architecture, integrated data model and graphical class-based workflow development. Equipment tracking workfow is improved with procedures able to be kicked off by events. Material and order management increases flexibility to manage shipping process. Also more web services are exposed to connect with higher level planning systems. Improvements in personnel qualification management include decertification processes if skills atrophy over time. In recipe authoring and electronic batch records, some usability improvements include better views across multiple orders. Uh oh... All this phone blogging and tweeting this morning has used up my battery. Next stop--off to get battery charger. Twitter hashtag: #EMRex
